First time visit in Melbourne and found Coasters Pub through Pub Crawler. Location is in a strip mall close to a Wal-mart, corner portion of the mall. Great atmosphere, awesome beer selection, 135 with about 35 on draft. The food was great and the service was also outstanding. If you are in the area this is definitely a place to visit and taste the selection.

Tucked in the corner of a non-descript right angle shopping center with a Wal-Mart on one end and a grocery store on the other, next to store front gym with a line of tread mills in the window you would probably ignore this place. Even from the its store front you are barely prepared for when you open the door you are greeted by a bar with 35 to 40 taps. I would never have found it except for PubCrawler.
This is a tourist and retirement area of for Florida barrier islands and beaches. Restaurants are great, wines are excellent (if that is your thing), bars are fantastic but I was suffering from ABOD (Anheuser-Bush Over Dose). I guess this area does not know there are brews other than the usual high volume ones. A good portion of Coasters' taps were from this group and even another large portion were similar styles but with character. I guess that is what sells in this area. It is the others that I went there for and they kept me entertained for many evenings.
As other reviews stated there humongous sandwiches are great. The rest of the food is good to not so-so. Based on poster in the place and checking the web there fries, rings, etc. come from McCains Brew City series. These are distinctive two or three notches above most other no-name frozen brands but they are still frozen and not fresh. I think they got the fish from Long John Silver but lost the instructions somewhere. Stay with the sandwiches you cannot go wrong. Remember you came here for the beer.

20 something beers on tap. Not just plain old old boring lagers. Change a few around once in a while. Bottle beer also. Best sandwiches you'll find. Fries are super. Staff always friendly and helpful.

Was disappointed- 1 beer of their own on tap and it was flat. Great selection of beers, but we are in search of the perfect micro-brew around the country. It's not here. Contact Indian River Brewing- they'll contract brew your product. Lots of beer afficianado's out here! Food was very good.

The Porter is good, but clearly not in the same league with Pike's (or mine). The pale ale is excellent. Food overflows the plate. Reuben and Burgers are excellent. I stop by on every visit to melbourne!

Come on, how many taps of yellow lager can you have? Decent selection of imports of various names but why not put some american micros on the list? Hardly any except Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada. Really a sports bar type of place with the house brews being decent but not exceptional.

While visiting the Indian River Brewing Company, we were told that Coaster's had a pretty good beer selection. Thus, my wife and I set out for the establishment; found some friendly servers; and sampled some pretty decent ales. They had one of their own brews on tap--a pale ale; which I found to have a fairly hoppy taste to it and a bit of bitterness at the end. I was well pleased. They also had Sierra Nevada's Big Foot Barley Wine--once again I was well pleased. They also had one of the biggest bloomin' sandwiches that I ever saw for $7.95--I was more than very well pleased. (In fact, half of it served as the next day's lunch.) This place has a decent selection of micros (as well as the swill that the big boys brew); very good service, and a nice atmosphere for enjoying some ales and food. Can't ask for much more than that in Florida.

Although they only server three different styles of beer they brew on location there are numerous taps flowing with some very good selections. The beer I sampled was the porter and Pale Ale both were well crafted beers. The food is very good and you get a very nice portion for your money. What I enjoyed the most was the brew house. The 1bbl mash tun with the 2 2.5bbl fermentors are something that I as a homebrewer wished I could have in my house.

Coasters was originally part of the Hubb's chain, until a few years ago, but still resembles its predecessor in most respects. 30+ beers on tap, including 3 that are brewed on site. The 'Home' brews are nothing special.
